Friday Randoms

Happy Friday!!

Well, we made it through our first week of school and are now getting back into a routine around here and it is kind of nice.

So, back to school means making and packing lunches everyday. For some reason Austin wants to take his lunch everyday.  I can remember when I was in school I never wanted to bring my lunch.

And most days we pack a lunch for Aydrie too. She is a very pick eater and her food has to be cut up so to make it easier on everyone we usually pack her a lunch.  The school has a new lunch provider and the menu is different this year and Aydrie has ate in the cafeteria three times this week, which is not the norm but she is eating good.

This is Aydrie's first year to have to wear a uniform and I think I am going to like it. It is so much easier to get her dressed in the morning.

Aydrie got to wear one of her new pair of shoes to school this week.  I just love these Sketchers.

This is her 2nd pair. She got a pair last year that we still wear but for some reason these were on sale for $19.99. I am not sure if they are going out of style or what?? But I snatched these up for her real quick.

They are so girly….lots of sparkle.

Heather and I were supposed to skip our Wednesday night enchiladas but we couldn't resist.  We once again stuffed our faces.  We had a nice dinner and laughed a lot.  It is a great way to break up the week.

Last Friday night I made a fast trip to Wal Mart.  I try my hardest to stay out of that place...lol. But I was so happy when I left with these.  I found Ace some PJ's for $1 and two were just $2.

I love when I find good deals.

This week Ace got to try cheerios and he loved them.  I put some in this little bowl and he carried it around everywhere.

Our Internet was done Wednesday night so I wasn't able to blog from my laptop.  So, I downloaded BlogPress and was able to blog from my phone and post from my phone.

Have you ever used this app???   It is good to have for when you are not around a computer.

Heather and I are both addicted to Pinterest.  I find myself pinning and just browsing Pinterest all the time. It has even caused me to forget about that laundry that needs to be done.

We have added a Follow Us link to the side under our about us-  to both our Twitter and Pinterest accounts if you would like to follow us there. I would love to see what everyone else is pinning.

Also, if you don’t have a Pinterest account yet leave us a comment and we can send you an invite.  I am sure everyone is pinning stuff by now.

Have a great weekend!

Weekend

Hey everyone I hope you all had a good weekend. Not much going on this weekend at all.

We woke up Saturday morning and went and helped Heather with her classroom.

She had some last minute things she needed to get done before Monday so she put us to work.

She always helps me so I was happy to help and that I did all day. Even though at times I kinda felt like I was just in the way.

Adam had to work so at one point I had all three kids with me. That was until I decided that me trying to help and chase Ace around wasn't going to work. He was getting into everything. Hearher's poor classroom.

I ended up taking him to Adams parents. After he was gone we got a lot done.

Sunday, was our grandmother's 79th birthday so we went and visted with her for a while and then ran a few errands to get ready for our week of back to school.

We were back to bed times Sunday night and didn't have any problems. The first day of school is always so exciting. I am hoping it is this way for the rest of the school year.

First Day of School

So, yesterday was our first day of school and this momma was an emotional wreck all day long!

It all started Sunday night when I was laying in bed thinking it felt like yesterday we were bringing Ace home from the hospital and now here we are planning his first birthday party and on top of that  a new school year is already here.

I kind of feel like the world around me is just going by so fast and here I am still thinking/wishing I had a newborn.  Okay, if that sounds crazy...I promise I am not crazy!  I am just a mom who wishes her kids would stop growing so fast!  With that said I hope I am not the only crazy momma out there.

Austin is now a sixth grader and Aydrie is starting 1st grade at a new school with all new teachers!

I got up extra early yesterday so make sure I had plenty of time to get everyone and everything ready. I wanted us to have a good morning.

So, no more hitting snooze on my alarm clock like 10 times.  Those days are over...until next summer.

After I made lunches and nearly trip over this little boy a couple of times we were out the door.

Austin was fine and just wanted to be dropped off.

So, he was the easy one.

Aydrie on the other hand…it was really hard leaving her.

It kills me to know that when she gets home from school she will not be able to tell me how her day went.

Adam and I both took her in and at first Aydrie wasn’t wanting to let go of Adam. It took her a minute.

And it really didn’t help when on of the little boys in her class nearly knocked her over.

He was just trying to tell her hello.

After we got over the shock of that another teacher took Aydrie over to a desk and started a puzzle with her and she was happy and smiling.

At that point Adam and I decided to leave.

It was hard and I had myself a good cry on the way to work.

But we made it through the first day.

I hope all of you had a great first day back to school/work!

Show and Tell Monday- Meet the Teacher Treat

HAPPY MONDAY Y'ALL!

On Thursday night, I had my first "Meet the Teacher" night! It went so good! I had 18 out of 22 sweeties show up and I was thrilled.

I wanted my sweeties to have a little treat to take home with them, so I made these cute little bags. Of course, I found my inspiration on Pinterest. Seriously in LOVE with Pinterest!

I bought the treat bags at Wal-Mart, filled them with multi-color Goldfish and tied them closed with a cute polka dot ribbon. (When I ran out of that, I used some tulle that I had laying around. I Printed the circles and glued them to card stock.) Super cheap and super easy, and they were all VERY excited!

Today is the first day of school, I am so anxious and thankful to be beginning my teaching career! I can't wait to see what this year has in store for me.

Have a great week! Linking here....

Friday Randoms

Happy Friday!!

We are in full party planning mode around here.

I can't believe I am planning Ace's 1st Birthday!

I finally found someone to do the decorations and will be getting those soon.

Me and Heather have lots of stuff we are going to have to put together.

I was so happy when I got home Saturday and had another package in the mail.

I got Ace's birthday shirt in last Wednesday and received his little beanie hat on Saturday.

Now we have everything we need to take his 1st Birthday pics!

Here is a little peek.  This is the back of his shirt.

Last night we had "meet the teacher" and got to meet Austin and Aydrie's teachers.

I have been so worried about Aydries' new school all summer but after meeting her teacher last night I know she will be just fine.

She is in a class with 4 other boys!

She is the only girl so she will be getting lots of attention and she is used to that.

It was also Heather's first "meet the teacher" and she did great.

She got to meet 18 out of her 22 students.

We met Heather and Jared at the local mexican food restaurant again for enchilada night.

I really wouldn't mind if we made it a weekly thing.

Austin is such a big help around here.

I was getting some stuff done around the house Tuesday night and I went to check on Ace and Aydrie and they had went to Austin's room and Austin was entertaining them.

Ace loves to crawl and play on Austin if Austin is laying on the floor.

This is what they were up to Saturday night.

If you missed Heather's post on Monday go here and check out her class room.

It turned out so cute!

Weekend Fun

Our weekend started out with our little Ace running fever.  He was up a lot Friday night and at 2:30 in the morning he got up and didn't want to go back to sleep. Luckily, after being awake for about an hour he fell back to sleep.  It was a long night!

Adam took him to the doctor Monday and he has an ear infection...we are now on meds and he is doing better.

Saturday, he woke up still running a bit of fever but acted like he was feeling a little better.  We had to go and finish or should I say start our school shopping.  We ended up spending most of the day shopping and getting all of our school stuff.

We got lucky and we got everything we needed including Austin's band stuff. Austin will be in band next year and has been bugging us all summer to buy his stuff he needed for band.  We finally bought it Saturday and he was so happy.  The next thing we have to do is get his instrument.

I can't believe school is starting Monday!

It was in the 80's all day Saturday so we took advantage and had a late lunch in downtown Dallas.   We never go down there and we were going to go to El Fenix but decided to drive downtown and ate at TGI Fridays and sat outside.

Austin was terrified of the guy selling flowers on the side of the street.  Ha! And I have to admit I kind of was too.

We were sure to leave the restaurant when the flower guy had stopped some other poor people.

The rest of the night I sat with this little boy and just played.

The shirt he has on in these pics is the one he wore here.  I have not idea how it still fits him??? It must run really big.  We just cut the sleeves off and use it as a sleeper.  I just love this shirt and think it is time we make some more!

Sunday, was a kind of sad for me.  I finally packed up Ace's Little Lamb seat, his walker (that we didn't even use), and his little bounce toy.  But then again it kind of feels good...because I got my living room back. It is no longer full of baby things.

We still have his pack-n-play in the living room only because we still put him in that when we need to get things done.  Ace is all over the house these days so some times he has to stay in it. He really doesn't like it but we manage.

After, my sad morning we decided to take Austin and Aydrie swimming.

This is what Ace did while they were swimming.  Poor little boy he didn't get to go swimming this weekend.  But he did get to have his first taste of ice cream.

Hope you had a good weekend!
