Show and Tell Monday- DIY Necklace

This is a very easy and super cute necklace.  I saw a tutorial for it here and thought I would try this out myself.

I am very proud to say I did this all by myself...usually Heather and I get together and craft but this was done all by me! And BELIEVE me if I can do this YOU can to!

You will need the following.

Glue - Felt - Chain/Necklace - Fabric

I would also recommend this fabric glue. This glue holds very well. It is so easy to use and you will save your little fingers from getting burned by that nasty hot glue gun. I only used the glue gun at the very end.

You will start of by cutting your fabric and felt.

For one pom-pom you will need about 30 one inch fabric circles and 1 one inch felt circle.  You can use more or less fabric circles depending on how thick you want your pom-pom.

TIP- if you have an empty gallon of water/milk take off the top and the top is 1 inch.  I used that to trace my circles.

Once you have your circles cut out you will want to start putting the fabric pieces on the felt.  Scrunch the little circle in the middle like below and start gluing on the felt.

It makes it easy to start in the middle and then add from there.  You can add as much or little as you want depending on how full you want your pom-pom.

Once you are done scrunching and gluing you will have a pretty pom-pom.

For this necklace I made three pom-pom's. Next you will glue your pom-poms to the felt and cut around the pom-poms.

Now you will add the pom-pom's to your chain/necklace. I placed my pom-poms face down and lined the chain up the way I wanted it and glued.  Then I had another piece of felt ready and placed it on top of my necklace to hide the chain.

You will end up with this super cute necklace!

When you get done making your cute and fabulous necklace wear it proud!  I sure do!

I am thinking I need one in every color/length! When I make some more I will be sure to share.  If you decide to make one I would love to see it.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a fabulous week!

My First Cereal

This baby boy loves his cereal!!

When he turned four months we got the okay to start cereal. With my other two I think I fed them cereal a lot earlier than four months but with Ace we are taking it nice and slow and trying to do every thing by the “books”.

This momma doesn’t want her baby to grow up too fast!  I know there is no way to slow it down but this is my last baby so I want to enjoy the “baby” stage as long as I can. So, we have decided to follow the doctor’s schedule and start the cereal thing at four months and so on.

So, we have started eating cereal at night followed by the rest of this bottle and he loves it! At first he wasn’t to sure about it and really didn’t care for it at all. So, I had to add in some stage one fruits and he is eating it so well.

We will soon start eating it in the morning and at night and I am sure he will enjoy that. And then we will move on to  the  veggies and yummy meats…ha. I am really hoping Ace doesn’t turn into a picky eater like his older sister and brother.

He gets so angry at me when I feed him slow. So, I have to be quick and make sure I have bite after bite ready for him.

But I think he finally has the hang of it and is just loving it!

Can't you tell?? He gets it every where and loves every last bite!

Today this little boy went to the doctor and he has RSV. So, tonight we started his little breathing treatments and are hoping we can kick this thing real fast!  Luckily, he is not acting like he feels bad right now...he just really congested and has a nasty nasty cough!

So, it looks like this weekend we will be staying home and trying to get this baby well

Tomorrow is Adam's birthday and his brother's birthday (yes they have the same birthday)....so Happy Birthday!!!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Laid-Back Weekend

I had a very laid-back 3 day weekend.  Not much going on at all!  Friday we started the weekend out with dinner from Whataburger.  Yes, of all places…only because the honey BBQ chicken strip sandwich is back for a limited time only. I am in love with this sandwich.  Heather and my mom like it too. We all get excited when it comes out. If you have never tried it you MUST

So, Friday night April and Jayden joined us for dinner and we got to visit with them. Jayden is very entertaining and you never know what he is going to do.

April and I watched 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler…I just love him!  Seeing that movie sparked my interest in going to see his new movie that just came out. But that didn’t happen this weekend maybe next weekend or I can add it to my long list of must see movies.

Saturday Adam had to work so we stayed at home all day  and later that night me and him had a “date night”.  We got to go out to eat with out any of the kiddies . It was nice to get out with out them but I think we talked about them the whole time.  We were going to try and catch the new Adam Sandler movie but instead we decided to call it a night two hours later and go get the kids and head home.

Maybe on our next “date night” we will stay out longer.

Sunday my plan was to stay at home and not do anything….but Ross was calling my name (and Heather’s too) and I haven’t made a trip there in a couple of weekends.... so we made a trip to Ross and I found Ace some cute Carter’s romper sets for like $6 a piece. You can not beat that price! So, I grabbed a few of those and me a shirt and some really cute sandals and headed home.

Miss Aydrie got to stay home with her daddy all day and just loved that!

Yesterday I was off work and Austin and Aydrie were supposed to be out of school but with the bad weather we had a couple of weeks ago they had to go yesterday to make up for a day they missed.

Austin had a check up at 10:00 so me and Ace went and got him out of school to take him.  He was very upset because he was missing school.

We were at the doctors office for two LONG hours, which is crazy.  We had an appointment at 10:00 but didn’t get called back until around 11:40.  CRAZY And his check up took all of like 20 – 30 minutes.  So, by the time we got out I was pretty upset too.  Not how I wanted to spend my day off.
Luckily, this little boy was very good and talked to us the whole time.

He just talks and talks these days.  He can say da-da…I am trying to get him to say ma-ma but nope...it’s only da-da right now. Adam really likes that but I always remind him that he has no idea what he is saying…ha.

I know I live such an exciting life ha ha.

Hope you have a great week!

Show and Tell Monday- Burlap Wreath

We have decided that MONDAY'S will be "Show and Tell" day here at Peace, Love, 2 Sisters. Here's the latest "Show and Tell Monday" tutorial.

I've seen all things BURLAP going around in "Blog Land" lately, so of course I had to have a "Burlap something" too. I had a few windows that were in desperate need of curtains, and that's where my love affair with burlap began. I'll share that tutorial and the pictures soon. They turned out GREAT and were SUPER EASY! I had about a yard of burlap left over from the curtains, so I decided to make a Burlap Wreath.

It's the same process as the heart wreath that we shared with you guys a few weeks ago.

Again, for this wreath all you need is a wreath {shape of your choice}, pack of straight pins, and whatever fabric/material you choose to use.

I wrapped my wreath in some left over strips of burlap, just to cover the white, but you don't have to do this step.

I traced LOTS of circles using my "craft cup"... ha! {I call it this because Jared got home and wondered what I had done to his cup... It was covered in pen marks. I told him it was now my "craft cup."}

After I used ALL of my burlap, I cut my circles. Here's a TIP, leave your fabric folded in half, that way you cut 2 circles at one time... much faster!

Fold your circle in half, and then fold your semi-circle in half. Stick a pin through the folds and pin it to your wreath. If that was too confusing... check out the pictures on our Heart Wreath tutorial. After you have used all of your circles, you have a pretty burlap wreath.

Jared had some left over rope that I rescued before it was trashed, and it came in handy here. I used it to hang the wreath.

Burlap is one of my new favorite things. What do you think? Are you in love with burlap as much as I am? Courtney has requested a wreath ASAP!
