Four Month Check-Up

Ace had his four month check-up today and he is just perfect!  I decided to take the whole day off and spend some extra time with him and take him to his appointment.

So, today we got to sleep in until around 8:30 and hang around the house until it was time to go to his appointment.  Heather came over and brought lunch and visited on her lunch break.

He now weights 13 lbs and is 26in long and his head is measuring at 16 1/4 inches.  His little head is just the right size.  The doctor said he is above average in his height and below average in his weight but he is growing well. He is a long skinny boy.

We got the okay to start rice cereal so we are going to start that this week. I am ready to see how he is going to react to that. I can't believe he is four months old already and starting cereal.

Ace had to get two shots today so when we came home he was pretty worn out and ready for a nap.  So, he took a little nap and when he woke up Austin and Aydrie were home.  Which was a treat for them because they got to come straight home after school. And of course the first thing we did was eat a snack.  I can always remember getting home from school and having a snack because I was starving...well it hasn't changed.  Austin and Aydrie do the same thing.  Austin acts like he hasn't eaten in days.

I was watching the weather tonight and the weather man said we are going to see the coldest temps we have seen in 15 years....crazy Texas weather!!  And they are calling for rain, sleet, and snow.....all this wonderful stuff is supposed to start tomorrow.  I am hoping the weather man is wrong because I don't want to stay at home another day because of the ice/snow.

Oh, and incase you didn't know the Super Bowl is in Arlington, Texas.  That is all the news has been talking about today.  They even interrupted two of my shows today to show the teams arriving at DFW airport and getting escorted to their hotels.  I was not too happy about that.

Tonight we had a few vistors and some good dinner.  Thanks Derek and Chelsea!

And Ace has been pretty fussy tonight so he has wanted to be held most of the night and I am taking full advantage of it.

Our Weekend

Well,  our weekend didn't start off to well.  This little boy was sick Friday night.  He had a little stomach bug.  He got sick around 8:00 on Friday night and was sick all through the night.

Adam and I camped out in the living room with him because we were waking up every hour to try and get him to drink a little.  We were afraid he was going to get dehydrated because he wasn't holding anything down. We were on Pedialyte all night and most of the day Saturday.  I was so glad when we woke up at 6 am on Saturday morning and I saw this.

He was feeling much better and that made us feel so much better!  I am not sure what was wrong with him. I guess he caught a little bug.  I am hoping no one else in our house gets it.

Saturday Heather and I went to a couple of craft store and got some supplies for a couple of projects we are going to do and also some stuff to make her some curtains.  We went home and started working on her curtains.  We are going to have to go back next weekend and get some more fabric to finish them but they are looking so good! I am hoping we can do some for Austins room next.  We are getting pretty good at this craft stuff...ha.

Aydrie got to stay at home with her daddy on Saturday all by herself and I am sure she just loved it.  Ace went with us and Austin went to his grandparents house for the day. When me and Heather got back to my house little Miss was looking pretty rough.

Daddy did my hair!
So, I got home put a bow in Miss Aydrie's hair and she was looking much better.

Saturday while I was out I broke my phone.  So, Sunday morning Adam, me and Ace made a trip to the Apple store to get me another phone.  Austin and Aydrie stayed with Adam's parents and got to play out side and enjoy the 70 degree weather.

Me and Ace decided to stay in the car because when we drove by the Apple store we could see that it was really busy and I didn't want to get Ace out with all those people.  So, me and Ace hung out in the car while Adam ran in for our appointment.

While we were in the car we played around with my camera and took some pics and I also learned that my point and shoot camera took video.  So, I thought I would try it out and see if I could figure out how to upload my videos to my computer. Well, I did figure it out. It was really easy. I can't believe I didn't notice that it took video before.  Here is a little video that we took.

While we were waiting in the car Ace got hungry and I went to make him a bottle and we didn't have any formula.  Adam had packed the diaper bag that morning and put everything in the bag but the formula. So, I made do with what I had and tried to give Ace just the water I had. That lasted maybe two seconds.  He is a very smart boy and I wasn't going to fool him.  Luckily, Adam came back to the car like five minutes after I discovered I didn't have any formula and we went straight to the store so we could feed this little boy.

The high light of Adams day was seeing Troy Aikman in the Apple store.  He even took a video just in case no one believed him.

The rest of the day we enjoyed the pretty weather and cooked out on the grill.

We were all loving the spring like weather and I wish it would stay around longer but we are supposed to get a winter storm later this week with highs in the 20's and lows in the teens.  I am so ready for spring time!

Water

This little girl loves her some water. She has always loved water and loves to splash.  She would sit and play in the bathtub for hours if I let her...but if I did that she would be a wrinkled little girl.  So, we try and keep our baths as short as we can.

When I am doing dishes she will always come to the sink and “help” me.  She is now tall enough to put her little hands in the sink and be able to touch the water.  She will stand on her tip toes and reach down as far as she can.

We have a dish washer so me doing dishes is just rinsing them off and putting them in the dish washer but now we have bottles to wash and I wash those by hand, so she get lots of play time at the sink if she chooses.

Sometimes when her brother is being extra nice he will get the step stool we keep under our bathroom sink and fill the bathroom sink up with water and bubbles and let her have fun. She will stand on that stool and just play in the water.   The next time that happens I will have to get some pics of it.

She is such a sweetie.

I am so glad tomorrow is finally Friday!  I have another three day weekend!!!

17 weeks & Aydrie

Here is Ace's weekly picture.

And this little girl has a boo-boo.

She fell yesterday and hit her chin at Mrs Sherry's.   So, yesterday when she got home she was a little sad but her daddy was able to cheer her up real fast.  He went to the store and got some supplies so we could clean and doctor it.

It was a pretty good gash but I think she is going to be fine. Now we just have to try and keep her band-aids on. And we are hoping she doesn't have a big scar.

She is such a happy girl.

She is getting more mobile these days so I am sure there are lots of falls in our future.   But that's okay because those falls mean she is getting braver and braver and hopefully one day little miss will be walking good and all by herself!

V-Day Entry Table

Neither one of us have a fireplace or a mantle, so we do the best we can with what we have. Our entry tables are the first thing you see when you walk in the door and we always want those to be in TIP TOP shape!

We thought it would be fun to use these tables for our Valentine's themed area in our home. Our homes don't scream "Valentine's Day" like they do "Merry Christmas," but we like just a little touch of LOVE for Valentine's Day!

We printed our Valentine's subway art HERE... and it was a FREE DOWNLOAD! {my favorite} We printed them from Wal-Mart and then bought a nice 8x10 frame. I think they look great! It was SO easy too... {did you know you can upload your pictures to Wal-Mart and they will be ready in just one hour to pick up?}

We made the Ruffle Balls that are in our vases and will be posting that tutorial sometime soon.

We also made these Poms that we will be warning you about. HA... yes WARNING...you'll see!

We love linky parties and have decided to participate in them more often.
